TBI Film night 'No Impact Man' Avoch 7.30

22 February 2017

Starts: 19:30
Ends: 21:30

Film Night – Wednesday 22nd February – 7.30

Avoch Parish Church Hall, Rose Street, Avoch

Following on from Growthbusters last month, which highlighted the impossibility of infinite economic & population growth on a planet with finite resources, our February film will be No Impact Man – an experiment in what we can personally do to reduce our impact on the planet.

“Colin Bevan decides to completely eliminate his personal impact on the environment for a whole year.  It means eating vegetarian, buying only local food, and turning off the refrigerator.  It also means no elevators, no television, no cars, buses or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, electricity, material consumption, and no garbage.  No problem – at least for Colin – but he and his family live in Manhattan.  So when his espresso-guzzling, retail-worshipping wife Michelle and their two-year-old daughter are dragged into the fray, the No Impact Project has an unforeseen impact of its own.”

Tea, coffee & biscuits will be available before the start – feel free to bring your own popcorn!  There will be time for discussion afterwards if you’d like to stay on, but don’t feel you have to.  The film is free, but donations are welcome - most folk gave us £5 last time, which was brilliant and more than covered the hall costs.

Film starts at 7.30 prompt & seats are limited, so arrive in plenty of time or bring a cushion...
